You are finally over your first trimester, the nausea has abated, and you have started feeling slightly human again. You are itching to start shopping for your baby.
First and foremost; don’t start shopping if your secret isn’t out yet! Save yourself the embarrassment of bumping into a work colleague, friend or your mother in-law or just a snoopy neighbour, while standing in a queue to fit a breastfeeding bra or purchase some nursing pads.
Starting looking around for nursery décor as soon as you feel like it. There are no rules…
Come visit the showroom to get some ideas – for the first time preferably with a friend, family member or even better on your own. Our experience shows that the Dad’s-to-be get a little overwhelmed in the showroom on the first visit!
Take your time to walk around and have a good look at everything; go through all the catalogues, fabric swatches and room displays. Either Martha, Ilona or I will be there to assist and guide you.
Don’t panic if you have no clue what you want to do.
Something is bound to jump out at you…
By starting to shop around sooner rather than later you will be able to take your time and not be forced to rush into any purchasing decisions.
Bring hubby with to help with final decision-making once you have a better idea of what you want.
Remember that the lead-time on furniture and linen is approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Keep in mind too that public holidays and the festive season effect manufacturing time. The order book for new orders usually closes in November every year and while we will continue taking new orders through the festive season, deliveries will only start happening late January early February.
